Hotel manager in Germany accused of drugging and sexually assaulting his wife for years, reports Bild.
A 42-year-old hotel manager, Philipp B., from Eitelborn, stands accused of subjecting his wife to years of abuse and sexual assault. He managed the «Altes Bierhaus» country hotel and revealed in court that he met his wife in 2005 when she started working for him as a waitress. Together, they have two children.
The investigation uncovered seven instances of assault, which were said to have occurred consistently over several years. It is alleged that Philipp used drugs to subdue his wife and filmed the assaults. The victim chose not to attend the court hearings in order to avoid confronting her husband.
The accused faces up to 15 years in prison. The trial is being conducted behind closed doors, and details are kept confidential due to the sensitive nature of the case.
This case has drawn parallels to the infamous «Avignon Devil» incident, where a French man was sentenced last year to 20 years in prison for using tranquilizers to control his wife, Giselle Pelico, and forcing her into acts of sexual exploitation that were recorded on video.
In a related prior case, an anesthesiologist was found guilty of assaulting patients during cesarean sections.
